Diane was born and raised in Bannock County. While attending Idaho State University, she met and married the love of her life, the late Chick Bilyeu. Diane has three grown children and nine grandchildren.
Diane worked as a realtor and broker before being elected Bannock County Assessor, where she served for 21 years. During that time she also served 10 years on the Idaho State Board of Education. Diane was elected to the State Senate from District 29 in 2006. She currently serves on the Joint Finance & Appropriations Committee, the Commerce & Human Resources, the Local Government & Taxation Committee and was recently appointed to the interim committee to study medical education in Idaho.
